A group gift pool lets several people put money towards one bigger item on a shared list. Quokit records who pledged how much towards the target; it never collects, holds or transfers money.
How does a pool work?
The list owner sets a target amount on an item. People viewing the shared list can then pledge an amount towards it. Everyone sees the running total, so the group knows when the target is reached. Payment happens outside Quokit in whatever way your group prefers.
Who can pledge?
Anyone with the shared list link can pledge after verifying their email with a one-time code, the same step used for claiming items. This keeps totals honest and lets a pledge be adjusted later by the person who made it.
Can the recipient see the pool?
Pool activity follows the same surprise rules as claims. On lists with anonymous claims enabled, the owner does not see who pledged until the reveal. Pledgers can always see the pool total.
What happens when the target is reached?
The organiser marks the pool as fulfilled from the shared list. The item then shows as being handled, so nobody else claims it or starts buying it separately.
What are the limits?
The Free plan includes a set number of active pools; see the current limits on the Premium page. Pools count per list owner, not per contributor.
